New Years Goals 2018

With the start of a new year, everyone seems to be scrambling to create new resolutions. I am no exception. This year I wanted to change my perspective on the traditional resolution approach and decided to try to see the new year with new eyes. Last year, my resolutions were more like wishes thrown out into the universe. This year I've broken down a lot of my bigger goals into tasks, hence the list.

Under the first column, I have a list of things that are one off items. They don't have a timeline, and after they're done I can tick them off the list. Then I have tasks I want to accomplish daily, weekly, bi-monthly, and monthly. It's a great reminder both going through the process of making this list, and having a physical copy of this list (that I have already taped onto my wall) to serve as a constant reminder of what I set out to do this year. Just going through the process of making this list and then broadcasting it to the world creates a great accountability that catapults you through the year. And even if they aren't sustained throughout the year, at least for the first couple months there was good progress.

I think that above all else, if listing out your goals or resolutions for the new year help even a little bit, then it is doing its job, and so are you. Here's to the new year and a fresh start. Lord knows we needed it.
